About Me

I have completed a Masters of Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy (Jansen Newman Institute) and I am a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association. My style is relaxed, warm and curious and my approach is humanistic, wholistic and integrative. I am interested in how our mental wellbeing is affected by difficult relationships with parents/caregivers in childhood and/or stressful events at any time in the lifespan. When these difficulties remain unexplored, parts of ourselves (emotions, body sensations, intuition and yearnings) can be marginalised and we can be left feeling numb, agitated, stuck and detached from ourselves, others and our life.

I am committed to my own personal inner work and I engage in regular supervision. I have also worked in the health sector for 18 years as an Occupational Therapist, with people of all ages, who have experienced a wide range of physical, cognitive and mental health conditions. This work has developed in me the ability to meet people where they are at and provide a sincere holding for people in times of distress.

I love experiencing life on all it's levels! I enjoy spending time relaxing with my nearest and dearest and I am also passionate about delving into the mysteries of our human experience. When not in the counselling room, my favourite things to do include sleeping in, attempting to perfect my barista skills, being anywhere near the ocean and pulling weeds and adding new plants to my native garden.
